unwind privacy policy

At unwind, we are BIG into boundaries, we subscribe to the view that every individual has the unfettered right to retreat from the business of the outside world into their own personal haven of solitude and calm, whatever shape that might take.

As part of that philosophy, we are committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. The below information outlines when and why we collect personal information about people who visit our website, how we use it, the conditions under which we may disclose it to others and how we keep it secure.

We try to avoid capricious flights of fancy, but do keep checking on this page in case we have had to make any changes. By using our website, you agree to be bound by this policy. If this all sounds a bit heavy, and not exactly night time reading, hold off until the morning instead, or drop us a line via email to deirdre@unwind.ie with your data or privacy related question to save you the hassle of reading the below.

What type of information is collected from you?

We collect as little information from you as possible, but typically it will include your name, your email address, IP address and information regarding what pages are accessed and when (and then we store them in dream jars similar to Roald Dahl’s Big Friendly Giant…not really, but it makes for a nice image). If you purchase a product from us on our online store, your card information is not held by us, it is collected by our third party processors, who specialise in the secure online capture and processing of credit/debit card transactions, as explained below.

Use of ‘cookies’

Cookies…sound a lot more exciting (and delicious) than they actually are. Like many other websites, the unwind website uses these tasty sounding digital misnomers. ‘Cookies’ are small pieces of information sent by an organisation to your computer and stored on your hard drive to allow that website to recognise you when you visit. They collect statistical data about your browsing actions and patterns and do not identify you as an individual. Still, if this is something you don’t feel that comfortable with, you can switch off cookies by setting your browser preferences.
